ABIDE IN HIM

Founded by Amanda Razzano-Latham, Beneath the Surface Skin Studio was created from a deep desire to serve, support, and love women who had lost confidence through the wounds and pressures of the world. From the very beginning, Amanda believed beauty was never meant to be shallow or surface-level — it was meant to restore confidence, dignity, healing, and identity.

The name Beneath the Surface was inspired by the words of Jesus in John 7:24: “Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.”  That scripture became the foundation of the studio’s heart and mission: to see people beyond appearances and to help every client recognize the beauty, value, and worth that already exists within them.

Amanda began her journey in Permanent Makeup over a decade ago, specializing in Microblading, Lip Blush, and Eyeliner Tattooing. What started as a creative passion quickly became a calling to help women feel restored and confident again- whether after illness, trauma, aging, insecurity, or simply the heaviness life can bring.

Driven by a relentless commitment to excellence, Amanda trained with some of the most respected artists throughout the United States before receiving a prestigious invitation to attend the PhiAcademy Master Class in Europe. There, she expanded her education internationally, refining advanced techniques and bringing world-class artistry back home to Pittsburgh.

As the studio evolved, Amanda was blessed to welcome her mother, RoseAnne, to the team to expand services into advanced skincare and laser treatments. Together, they cultivated more than just a studio — they built an atmosphere centered on encouragement, mentorship, healing, and genuine human connection.

Over the years, Amanda has personally trained and mentored dozens of talented artists and estheticians, helping develop the next generation of beauty professionals while maintaining the high standards, integrity, and artistry that Beneath the Surface is known for today. Every artist within the studio is shaped by a culture of continuing education, compassion, excellence, and timeless beauty.

But Amanda’s journey eventually expanded far beyond the beauty industry.

After witnessing her own children endure severe bullying within their school district, Amanda began tirelessly advocating for change. She met with teachers, principals, superintendents, school boards, parents, and students, only to discover countless families silently suffering through repeated victimization, isolation, and hopelessness.

When no real solutions seemed to come, Amanda fell to her knees and cried out to the Lord, asking Him to help her create change — not only for her own children, but for others as well.

From that season of heartbreak and prayer came the vision for The Village- a community-powered student development model designed to help students feel seen, valued, supported, and launched into purpose through mentorship, faith-based character development, meaningful relationships, and real-world opportunities.

Today, while continuing to lead the vision and expansion of The Village, Amanda still actively oversees Beneath the Surface Skin Studio as its Creative Director and Master Trainer. She remains deeply involved in artist education, advanced technique development, mentorship, and maintaining the culture and excellence the studio was founded upon — ensuring every client who walks through the doors feels cared for, restored, and truly seen beneath the surface.
